Hours had passed since everyone had begun searching for Ella Pegasus. She went hiking in Domino Canyon and never returned. Mokuba started searching around a group of thick trees when something caught his eye. Turning his head, he saw a strange source of swirling light. Going over to it, he ended up walking through it and found himself outside a Western town. Hoping to find something, he walked down the street.

He had tan skin with grayish-purple eyes. Long black hair ended at his back. Mokuba wore a
green blue-striped shirt with a yellow vest over it, dark blue jeans, and blue sneakers. Everyone glancing at him wore Western themed clothing. Whispers of why a child was here confused the townspeople.

Coming up to a diner, he opened the door and entered.

Radley looked up in surprise. There weren't many kids in town, and this was a new one. He tried to look after them all, which could be overwhelming. But he accepted the responsibility.

"Hello there," he said. "Can I help you?"

“Hello,” he greeted. “I’m looking for my friend. I was wondering if you saw her. Or at least know where she went. She disappeared while hiking in Domino Canyon,” he replied. Removing his phone from a jeans pocket, Mokuba showed him a photo of Ella.

"Yeah, she's here," Radley said in surprise. First a Duelist younger than he wanted to use, and now a kid. Who next would come through the portal?

[mokubakaiba]

“That’s great. Everyone has been so worried,” he said, sounding relieved. Mokuba looked around the room and saw Ella sitting at a table. He rushed over and embraced his friend. “I’m so glad you’re safe. Let’s head back home.”

"There's a problem with that, I'm sorry to say," Radley said. "The portal has only been working one direction. No one who comes through has been able to go back."

Ella jumped in surprise at the sudden embrace. Looking at who hugged her, she smiled seeing one of her friends. “Mokuba, I’m very happy you’re here,” she said. “We’re going to stay here until we can figure out what exactly is going on with this mysterious force and portal. Then, there’s the situation with Malcolm and his men.”

Mokuba stared at Ella and the guy with shock and confusion. “What’s really going on here?” he asked. “Tell me everything you know.”

"Well, it's a real bad scene," Radley said. "We're trying to gain control of this town, but so is Malcolm. We don't wanna hurt anybody, but he does." He sighed. "It's not safe here. But we can't close the portal and it's bringing other people here too. Once they're here, they're stuck. There's a supernatural barrier around the area that prevents anyone from going too far away."

“I agreed to help everyone. I’m not letting Malcolm and his men control the innocent people in this town,” she said.

Mokuba wasn’t surprised she would agree to help. She’d always been like that. “Are you saying that I can’t see Seto or any of my loved ones again until we figure out how to stop this?” he asked,softly.

Radley sighed sadly.

"No, not necessarily. They might wander through the portal too....

"Wait, Mokuba? Seto? As in Kaiba?" He was stunned.

A part of him hoped they would. The possibility of never seeing everyone wasn’t something he wanted to think about. But at the same time he didn’t want them in danger. “Yes. That’s my older brother,”Mokuba replied.

Radley really felt for the kid. He saw the same sorrow in Nico's and West's eyes, although they tried to be strong and believe they would see their father again. There might be something Radley could do about that, but about this ... he didn't know if anything he did would make a difference here.

"You guys are all grown-up in this time," he said. "I never thought I'd meet either of you, especially from the past ... and especially not like this. I'm real sorry it has to be this way."

And if Mokuba was stuck here in the future from the past, would that change time? He tried not to think about that.

He stared at the man trying not to look scared. “The portal sent me and Ella into the future? How far? Will this change anything?” Mokuba asked. “It’s not your fault. I didn’t think I would be here.”

Radley mentally calculated Mokuba's age.

"I think it must be at least thirty years," he said. "I don't know if it will change anything. I haven't noticed any big changes when anyone else has shown up, so I guess we'll have to hope that's a good sign."

He was expecting more than 30 years but was glad it wasn’t too long into the future. “I hope it doesn’t. I just want everything to turn out alright,” he said. "Who else is here besides Ella and me?"

"I don't think there's anyone else here you probably know," Radley said. "We have people from all times and places. There's even a gambler here who dresses like it's the 1860s. He's from modern-day L.A., though."

“Interesting. I’d like to meet whoever I can,” she said. “What’s the gambler’s name?”

“How far back has someone traveled here?” Mokuba asked. “Has this been happening for years or recently?”
