#1. Arrive via portal from another time or dimension

You find yourself stepping through what was apparently a portal in mid-air. Now you're on the other side. Going back is not an option; the portal is one way and it's closed. Your only choice is to go forward, go down the mountain, and towards the lights and music nearby. A coyote howls somewhere close, but doesn't come closer.

You go under a Welcome sign that says Crash Town and has a cow skull on it. That should set off some alarm bells. It looks like a quaint American Western town up ahead: buildings close together, wooden sidewalks, and names such as the Red Scarf Saloon. Men are laughing inside, drunk and cracking crude jokes.

A beautiful old Spanish villa is nearby, its bell tower as tall as that of the abandoned church.

Up ahead is the city center, where four paths intersect.

Do you try the saloon, or keep going? It appears there's more to see than you thought.

What is that eerie purple mist on the ground?

#2. Arrive via vehicle from the same dimension

It was a long drive through the desert. You're only about an hour out of New Domino City, but Zero Reverse has made this place seem like another world. Red rocks surround you now, especially one particularly tall one that sticks up like a red Matterhorn. There are lights and buildings and music below it. You drive towards what looks like civilization, driving through a strange film in the air as you go. If you try to turn back, you won't be able to get out. Forward is your only option now.

You pass by an old building that looks like it's existed since Old West days. There's a wire fence around the edge of town just beyond it, but there's an opening big enough for a car to drive through. The North side of town is filled with homes and a few businesses, the latter becoming more prominent as you approach the center.

There's a feeling of something watching, even though nothing is visible right now. It might be wise to take shelter somewhere.

Radley's Diner is lit up bright. The two-story building looks like a classy restaurant, but one without a strict dress code. Several motorcycles are lined up outside the porch. The sounds of merriment and laughter are coming from inside. It sounds pleasant. Do you go inside? Or do you continue down the Main Street and see what else is available?

#3. Out Too Late

If you spend too much time trying to figure this place out, the fog you saw earlier is going to be a real problem. It will quietly curl around you, trying to envelope you in its dangerous embrace. Memories of the past may call out to you: something you did, someone you hurt, something you didn't do.... Whatever you most regret or fear will play out over and over for the rest of the night. Will you be a broken mess by morning? Will you not remember anything?

Alternately, you may be attacked be some sort of monster. Is it a Duel Monster? A creature from spooky myths? Whatever it is, it can genuinely hurt you. By morning you may be in need of medical attention. Or you may be physically fine, only remembering its wounds in your mind. Or, perhaps most frightening, you may behave as though the attack and its effects are real, even though you are not physically changed. Bit by a vampire? You may attempt to prey on the townsfolk. Attacked by a werewolf? You might develop an urge to howl at the moon and behave like a frothing beast. These effects will last until the following night, when the attacks begin anew....
